AIGA: The 100 Show

The 100 Show is an annual exhibition showcasing the year's top design projects, hosted by the Salt Lake City chapter of AIGA. The core piece of the system was the "100" lockup, represented by a black square and two circles, which animated into various experimental forms. The exhibit also featured a poster installation, designed as an AR experience, where patrons could view the posters animate through their personal screens.

Columbia University

AKG was commissioned by Columbia University to help them re-envision their ‘Engineering for Humanity’ initiative for the College of Engineering. They had previously created a seal to encapsulate the brand, which was not flexible enough to function properly in representing the initiative’s vision to students, faculty, donors, and the New York City public. The solution was to re-envision the complicated seal as a simplified symbol, which combines the introspective nature of a lens with reference to the expansive impact engineering has on humanity. We also developed a communications and visual system through which the concept of expansion can shift effortlessly between microscopic, global, and interplanetary experiences.

North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame

A comprehensive brand and communication strategy for North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame and Museum—celebrating extraordinary athletic achievement and leadership. As a backdrop for the brand, the ‘O’ weaves through the extended visual system as a nod to the quintessential shape of competition. Project rebrand received an STA 100 Award from the Chicago Society of Typographic Arts, a Merit Award from the AIGA.

Fellow is a healthcare IOT technology company that creates health monitoring devices and information delivery systems designed to provide underserved and rural populations with access to cutting edge healthcare solutions. The rebrand introduced a new name, wordmark, communications strategy, website design and development, as well as editorial and environmental applications. The result was a bold identity that is both friendly and modern.

Elevate Magazine

The second issue of Elevate Magazine. The issue features artist Patrick Dougherty, commissioned to create a signature sculpture on the Caine College of the Arts campus, and showcases student accomplishments throughout the year. The design was intended to present a fresh, contemporary visual voice to the institution that would connect with a forward-thinking arts-oriented college demographic while also respecting the donors and alumni that have been an integral part of bringing the college forward to its current state.

The brand was reintroduced with a new name, visual identity, and website to better serve its current client base in addition to capturing the attention of emerging industry talent. AKG also created environmental wayfinding, and stage design for the PACS annual conference and animated messaging for Vivint Arena and Lavell Edwards Stadium.
